Located at Victoria Park Avenue and Eglinton Avenue, Eglinton Square is undergoing an exciting revitalization. The redevelopment site will include the Eglinton Square Shopping Centre, surface parking lots, and 3-storey residential apartments to the south of the shopping centre.
Spearheaded by Kingsett Capital and designed by Quadrangle Architects, the shopping centre will remain untouched, while the creation of a public piazza, five mixed-use towers ranging in height from 25 to 40 storeys, and 3-storey stacked townhouse rows are all part of the plan to achieve the goal of a complete, high quality mixed-use community. New street level retail and public spaces will offer a pedestrian friendly experience.
The area has an excellent walk score of 86 out of 100. Eglinton Square is an 8-minute walk from Terraces of Eglinton, and most errands can be completed on foot. The Eglinton Square Shopping Centre is currently home to over 75 major retailers including The Hudson’s Bay, Metro, Shoppers Drug Mart, and more. Spectacular shopping, restaurants, entertainment, and more are all a short walk away. The transit score of 68 out of 100 will only improve with the completion of the Crosstown LRT, which is to be completed in 2021. Two stations at the northern corners of the site will put Eglinton Square directly on the LRT line.
